I launched the Space Cadets blog on a Ghost blog during their Social Web/ActivityPub beta and have loved it. However, the atproto ecosystem has been exploding with possibility as a social cms and place for community experimentation and I decided that my need to control the atproto account was greater than my love of Ghost as a platform, so I'm slowly migrating my entire domain over to Atmosphere infra!
As of now, my blog will be hosted from my personal data store (pds) hosted by , it will be published via as a publication, and this gives me a baseline to start exploring new and emerging tools in the Atmosphere to build community spaces for culture and collaboration.
I'll be going deep, not just using tools, or building tools, but also have some protocol level proposals for enabling community governance.
What do I mean by governance? I'll talk about that in other posts, but suffice it to say when it comes to this Space Cadets experiment, I'd like accountability mechanisms in place for my community to kick me out of power and take complete controls of these atproto assets if they so decide.
Mutiny must be an option!
For the moment I'll be mapping this Leaflet page to my blog.spacecadets.love subdomain until I'm finished moving everything over from the ghost blog. After that, I'm either going to make this my primary page OR play build a more ambitious community experience via (for an early example of what's possible, see ).
Be sure to subscribe above/below as this publication is separate from my personal leaflet blog!
